Workshops

Turn your dream into a sustainable reality. These hands on workshops help participants turn ideas into a specific action plan. The curriculum is based on the Go Big! Toolkit and Joe Startup Plan. Participants prepare for the 4 session (2 hour) workshops in advance by watching online videos, reading materials and preparing templates. In workshops, participants share their work with their peers, creating a focus group to test ideas. Our Approach is to offer just in time learning and teach the least you need to know so you can grow the enterprise.

We offer 3 levels of workshops:

DEVELOP

Startups clearly define and test their product/service definition while small businesses do a reality check on their current business offering to identify gaps, potential fixes or new products/channels.

Participants test their value proposition by clearly defining customers, doing research (user/expert interviews) and narrow many potential solutions to one after testing. The outcomes include a clear target group, product definition, message and market tested prototype. Students learn about the design thinking - a complex problem solving method and valuable life skill. This workshop is the first of three workshops in the Joe Startup Curriculum.

EXECUTE

Turn your new initiative into an enterprise. In the workshop, we examine several areas: THINK (feasibility), MAKE (development/manufacturing), TELL(marketing), SELL(selling) and RUN(management/finance). Startups complete a clear plan tested by peers. Small businesses examine each area and prioritize an action plan to grow. Students develop a systematic understanding of starting and running a business. This workshop is the second of three workshops in the Joe Startup Curriculum.
